I have had the opportunity to live and visit some amazing places in my life, as my father was in the military. He eventually retired and settled in Springville, which is where I went to high school. While attending Springville High School, I played volleyball, basketball and ran track and field, Varsity Lettering in all. I also played the piano in the jazz band and during the winter spent almost all my free time on the mountain snowboarding.
I have a bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from B.Y.U. and a degree in Social Studies Education from U.V.U. I also have an associates degree in History and Political Science with a minor in German. While at UVU I was an instructional assistant for the American Civilizations course and the Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust class. I also was a research assistant for Dr. Brown translating German to English from old texts supplied by the United States Holocaust Museum, I had the opportunity with Dr. Brown to go and visit D.C. a few times and do further research and work there. I was able to do a summer internship at the United States Holocaust Museum working as a translator. I continue to assist at UVU as an instructional assistant and help with their study abroad programs in the summer. I have had the opportunity to go with students for the summer semesters to Cuba, Japan, and Italy. I am a travel enthusiast and a book worm. I love to read about history (of course) and the world. I enjoy being active and playing volleyball and soccer. I also practice yoga and have a newly appreciated admiration for meditation. I love to cook, every new country I travel to I always take cooking classes so that I can have a new skill to take home. I have lived in many different countries and visited many others, in total I have been to over 27 different countries. I also love learning about culture and languages, I am fluent in 3 languages and love using them as much as possible. |
